I’ve just published Post #5 in this vintage lace series, covering Rounds 45–52 of the design. This section brings in a larger Afghan stitch pyramid round that gives the outer edge such a beautiful sense of rhythm and structure.
It felt especially rewarding to reach this point. After laying the piece out, I could really begin to appreciate how much presence it has now. The design is opening up in such a lovely way, and the larger pyramids are starting to define the outer edge more clearly.
In this new section, I included:
- my rewritten instructions in US terms
- notes about the stitch count adjustments
- a mini stitch key for this portion of the pattern
- a photo of the original pattern for comparison
After completing this section, the piece measures approximately 27 inches in diameter.

Bookmark this list if you’d like to follow along. I’ll continue updating it as new sections are published.
There is something deeply satisfying about staying with a large and intricate piece long enough to watch it truly begin to materialize.
Thank you so much for following along with me. I’ll be back soon with the next section.
